20th Century Fox has announced the release date for Danny Boyle’s much-awaited sequel, ’28 Years Later.’
Set to hit theaters on June 20, 2025, the film marks the third installment in the post-apocalyptic horror series. The star-studded cast includes Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, and Jack O’Connell, with Cillian Murphy as the original 2002 film’s executive producer. Alex Garland, the writer of the original screenplay, will also make a return for this project.
While plot details are still under wraps, it has been revealed that this film is the first of a trilogy, with Nia DaCosta set to helm the follow-up. ’28 Years Later’ continues the franchise’s legacy, following the standalone sequel ’28 Weeks Later’ released in 2007, and the original ’28 Days Later’ from 2002.
