The Philadelphia 76ers are not happy with the calls in their first two playoff games against the New York Knicks
The Philadelphia 76ers are upset about the officiating during their series against the New York Knicks. They plan to file a complaint, as they were leading in both games but lost to the Knicks in New York. In Game 2, the Knicks won 104-101 with a three-pointer from Donte DiVincenzo.
During a crucial possession, the Knicks made a steal after an apparent struggle involving Tyrese Maxey, Jalen Brunson, and Josh Hart. Joel Embiid claims that Maxey was fouled and that Coach Nick Nurse and players tried to call a timeout before the turnover. Embiid criticized the officiating as unacceptable.
This move is similar to the Knicks’ protest earlier this season against a referee error that cost them their game against Houston. The NBA denied their protest. As a result, the Knicks have started detailing the officials’ breakdowns in their playoff game notes, highlighting officiating statistics and challenges.
