Apple made headlines at its 2024 WWDC by focusing on its new in-house AI, Apple Intelligence, rather than announcing major hardware updates. However, exciting changes are reportedly coming to the Apple Watch lineup, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Apple Watch Series 10
As the Apple Watch approaches its tenth anniversary, Apple is planning a significant revamp of the Series lineup. Gurman reports that the upcoming Series 10 will feature a screen size matching that of the Apple Watch Ultra. This two-inch display, a standout feature of the Ultra, raises questions about how Apple will differentiate the Ultra 3, which is also expected to debut in September.

In addition to the screen upgrade, the Series 10 and Ultra 3 are expected to include a new chip designed to support future AI features. For now, users can expect to see Apple Intelligence on iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

In a bid to compete with Samsung’s $199 USD Galaxy Watch FE, Apple is also reportedly planning to reduce the cost of its $249 USD Apple Watch SE. This price drop will be achieved by replacing the aluminum shell with plastic, making the watch more affordable.
