image

This innovative art experience is sure to generate a lot of buzz.

DE SARTHE Gallery is showcasing Art Survivors, a Hong Kong artist Mak2 solo exhibition. It’s a break from serious art, with fun and laughter encouraged. From May 4 to June 22, the exhibition features a first-person old zombie games android set in an imaginary art fair and a new series of canvas works titled “Home From Home.”

Visitors are greeted by an AI-generated video artwork called “This Way to the Game (2024)” at the entrance, setting the playful tone. The highlight is the interactive FPS game “Art Survivors (2024),” exploring the competitive art world dynamics with humor.

“Home From Home (2024)” presents triptychs blending domestic scenes with zombies, reflecting on comfort and conflict in modern life. Mak2 challenges security and escapism, emphasizing life’s unpredictability amidst technology.

Mak2’s exhibition blends satire and comedy to highlight survival challenges in art and life. Visit DE SARTHE Gallery’s website for more details.
