ASICS x Carnival Launch GT-2160 “Concrete Bloom” Inspired by Bangkok’s Urban Resilience

ASICS x Carnival

Renowned sportswear label ASICS, in collaboration with ever-innovative Bangkok-based streetwear brand Carnival, has once again unveiled another version of their legendary GT-2160, this time called “Concrete Bloom.” Muay Thai culture is moving aside. This time around, the inspiration sources from Bangkok’s multifaceted lifestyle which represents the city’s intricate mix of different environments and cultures.

The design takes on an urban sport vibe, using a combination of gray hues and green and orange, all-natural colors, while materials such as suede, and mesh are the main ones.

The Carnival says that the shoe is a symbol of resilience and compares it to weed that grows in the concrete, meaning obdurate environments create such hardy and robust creatures.

ASICS Features and Benefits in the ASICS x Carnival Collaboration

Characteristic details such as co-branding and Carnival’s tagline on the lateral side of the heel, the sneaker’s off-white mid-top sole, and the silver solely metallic garment are the most notable ones.

On the one hand, wearers will benefit from the GEL cushioning units of ASICS and also from the TRUSSTIC support method, both of which provide a non-stop function of comfortability and sturdiness.

Although the retail price has not been disclosed, the weekend kicks off at Carnival on August 29, the announcement and raffle of which will be held on the official app. The city of Bangkok will be the starting place of sales on September 3 and the next week the global release is anticipated to take place in selected stores on the 10th of September.
