ASICS, a Japanese company founded by Kihachiro Onitsuka in 1949 as Onitsuka Co. Ltd., specializes in athletic footwear and sports equipment for various sports. Initially, the company focused on producing basketball shoes in Kobe, Japan. The iconic crossed stripes branding first appeared on the Mexico 66 design and has since become widely recognized.
