XO Records mainstay Belly has just released his latest album, “96 Miles From Bethlehem”. This 9-track effort features collaborations with Palestinian artists Saint Levant on “Baroudeh,” Ibrahim Maalouf on “Carry Me,” and Elyanna and MC Abdul on “Maktub.” The album also showcases traditional instrumentalists and production from DaHeala.
“96 Miles From Bethlehem” is described as a “deeply personal project” for Belly. It pays homage to his Palestinian roots and highlights his home’s ongoing struggles. As one of the most visible Palestinian artists in mainstream music, Belly narrates “the gift, curse, and fate of being Palestinian” with raw honesty. He even named the album after his birthplace, Jenin, which is 96 miles from Bethlehem.
In a show of solidarity, all profits from the album will go to organizations supporting various Palestinian relief efforts. Stream Belly’s *96 Miles From Bethlehem* now on Spotify and Apple Music.
