Renowned musician and composer Devonté Hynes, better known by his stage name Blood Orange, has been tapped to join the creative team of the upcoming Broadway production of “Job”. Hynes will lend his musical genius to the play, crafting original compositions that will undoubtedly enrich the narrative and emotional depth of the story.
According to producer Hannah Getts, Hynes’ involvement is a natural fit, given his innate ability to weave compelling stories through his music. “Dev’s work on Job not only elevates the thematic and narrative threads but also deepens the emotional resonance of the play,” Getts exclaimed. “We are thrilled to integrate his innovative musical vision into the fabric of Job.”
Written by Max Wolf Friedlich and directed by Michael Herwitz, “Job” boasts a talented cast, including Peter Friedman and Sydney Lemmon. Following a successful Off-Broadway run in 2023, the production is set to make its Broadway debut at the Hayes Theater on July 15, with a formal opening night scheduled for July 30. The limited engagement will run through September 29.
Hynes’ contribution to “Job” marks a significant milestone in his illustrious career, which has seen the release of critically acclaimed albums like “Negro Swan” in 2018. As Blood Orange, Hynes has consistently pushed the boundaries of musical storytelling, and his collaboration on “Job” promises to be a highlight of the Broadway season.
