“Can’t Use TikTok to Promote My Sh*t!” GloRilla Adds Voice to UMG vs. TikTok Battle

GloRilla recently expressed her frustration over the ongoing dispute , between Universal Music Group (UMG) and TikTok. UMG has removed its artists’ music from the platform due to a disagreement centered on royalty payments and the use of artificial intelligence.

Top artists like Drake and Nicki Minaj have also been affected by this move. GloRilla, a Memphis rapper, highlighted how this conflict hampers her ability to promote her music and engage with fans on TikTok.

She even humorously apologized for “causing earthquakes” with her latest drop, showcasing her signature humor amidst the frustration.

UMG criticizes TikTok for low compensation despite its significant growth in advertising revenue and user base. However, for artists like GloRilla, platforms like TikTok are crucial for promoting their work and connecting with their listeners.
