Capsule Plaza’s vision is to spark a city-wide conversation about modern design
In the past, some designers challenged the usual ideas about design, like what looks good and what works well. They were called “radicals” because they wanted to change things. Now, Capsule Plaza, a design week program show, is taking inspiration from these radical ideas but with a modern twist for 2024.
One of the people organizing the show, Paul Cournet, says that many famous brands we know today started with radical ideas. For him and the founder, Alessio Ascari, being radical now means breaking the rules creatively. This idea has been seen in art, fashion, music, and food, and design is catching up.
Capsule Plaza started as a magazine a few years ago and is now a big event with incredible installations and exhibitions. This year, they’re even using a new location in Milan. They want to celebrate famous designers and new talents pushing boundaries and making exciting new things.
