Cambridge Audio has unveiled the Melomania P100, marking the brand’s first foray into over-ear headphones in its nearly 60-year history. Expanding on the award-winning Melomania series, previously known for in-ear models, the P100 is packed with impressive features including high-fidelity wireless playback, customizable sound with a seven-band EQ, and an astounding battery life of over four days (100 hours).
Cambridge Audio Melomania P100: A Legacy of Excellence
Founded in 1968, Cambridge Audio has poured over five decades of audio expertise into the creation of the Melomania P100. Tuned to the brand’s signature sound, these headphones offer a transparent and natural listening experience, bringing you closer to the music without distortion. The accompanying ‘Melomania Connect’ app, available on iOS and Android, allows users to fine-tune their sound with six preset profiles or full control via the seven-band EQ.
High-Fidelity Wireless Headphones: Unmatched Sound Quality
The P100 features 40mm drivers made from a three-layer composite of PEEK+PU+PEEK (polyetheretherketone and polyurethane), ensuring lightweight durability. Emphasizing sustainability, the headphones are crafted from 50% recycled plastic and are shipped in 100% plastic-free packaging. Additionally, Cambridge Audio offers user-replaceable batteries and earcups, making the P100 a unique choice in the personal audio market.
Sustainable and Durable Design
Key features of the P100 include multipoint connectivity with two devices over Bluetooth 5.3, with the option to connect to a third device via wired connection (both USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to 3.5mm jack cables are included). Whether wired or wireless, the P100 supports lossless, high-fidelity audio with codecs including SBC, AAC, and aptX Adaptive up to 24-bit/96kHz. A ‘Gaming Mode’ reduces lag for near-perfect screen/sound synchronization.
Long Battery Life Headphones: Connectivity and Performance
The P100 also boasts active noise-cancelling (ANC) and adjustable transparency mode. With ANC on, the battery lasts an impressive 60 hours, but without ANC, it reaches a record-breaking 100 hours, unparalleled in the market today.
Comfort is a standout feature of the P100, with a fit that rivals Bose’s QuietComfort range. Soft vegan leather earpads, a cushioned headband, and ideal clamping pressure ensure long-lasting comfort.
Available in black or white, the Cambridge Audio P100 headphones can be purchased through the brand’s website for £229 GBP / €279 EUR / $279 USD.
