This year during the annual event of Paris Fashion Week, the house of Courrèges unveiled its new Spring/Summer 2025 pre-collection that successfully brought a new lease of young and modernist outlook for the brand while incorporating certain elementalisms that made it stand for. Born during the coldest winter in years, the collection enshrouds the theme of ‘dreaming the sunshine beyond the clouds’, taking us to a summer haven.
Nicolas Di Felice’s Minimalist Vision for Courrèges SS25
Creative Director Nicolas Di Felice has rewritten the brand’s classics in this key, interference minimal, calm sensual that was first heard in the FW24. Last season’s shapes and compositions are given a new twist in thin, sliced, upside-down deconstructed pieces and “Magic Square” mesh tops. Satin, workwear canvas, and raw indigo denim are well incorporated in the new collection to enhance on luxury.
Homage to André Courrèges’ Iconic ’70s Aesthetic
Yet, going back to the brand’s heritage, Di Felice reinterprets the spring-summer 1970 collection with the asymmetric button tabs and overemphasised shoulders of the ’70s. The Friday Bowling bag is revived in an extended shape and developed for daily use.
Athletic Inspirations and Daywear Essentials
The standout piece of the collection would be Di Felice’s reiteration of the quintessential summer attire with good measures of athleisure informing daytime wear. By wearing layered waistbands, oversized belt loops, and geometric triangular graphics, the essence of the sport, adventure, is inserted into the collection, coupled with watersport-inspired pieces like the biker jacket in scuba jersey fabrication to enhance the sense of the urban elite. From city breakers to sneaker lovers, the style deriving from diving shoes is proposed in Nappa leather.
