Dingyun Zhang’s adidas Originals Samba in ‘Core Black’

image

Despite the blackout treatment, the shoe retains the instantly recognizable Samba features.

The most talented designer Dingyun Zhang has partnered with adidas for his first footwear collaboration. He has reimagined the classic adidas Originals Samba. It is  known for its exaggerated and abstract design style. Zhang has applied a more subdued approach to this collaboration.

The sneaker, named “Core Black,” features a sophisticated tone-on-tone design, combining suede and patent leather to create a textural contrast. The iconic adidas Three Stripes blend seamlessly into the shoe’s design, crafted in patent leather on the quarter panels.

The sneakers also incorporate suede on the eye stay, mudguard, and heel tab, with slight padding on the heel tab and collar area, which subtly reflects Zhang’s signature puffed-up proportions. Set for release on May 10, the Dingyun Zhang x adidas Originals Samba “Core Black” will be available through adidas, offering a versatile addition to any sneaker collection.
