Get ready for a prehistoric style refresh! Artist Daniel Arsham and design gallery Friedman Benda are expanding the color palette of the iconic Dino Chair.
Renowned artist and designer Daniel Arsham, in partnership with Friedman Benda and Basic.Space, unveils two new color variations of his iconic Dino Chair. It is available in Black and Pink, these limited editions maintain the playful and primitive design aesthetic introduced in Arsham’s 2021 solo exhibition at Friedman Benda.
Inspired by his son’s Play-Doh creations, the chairs evoke a whimsical vibe reminiscent of The Flintstones. Crafted from sturdy birch wood, each chair measures 35 x 20.5 x 25 inches and is limited to just 20 pieces per colorway.
Daniel Arsham underscores the dynamic interplay between design and user, remarking, “Every single thing that I’ve designed furniture-wise, I designed it with the intention of using it.” This commitment to functional art underscores Arsham’s philosophy of creating pieces that are not only visually captivating but also practical in everyday use.
The Dino Chairs will initially be available through an exclusive presale for friends and family on April 22, followed by a public release on May 14.
