Dr. Martens has embraced a softer side with the launch of its new Ambassador Leather collection. This British-based footwear brand has reimagined several classic silhouettes using premium tumbled leather, featuring the popular 1460 Boot and 2976 Chelsea Boot, now available in both black and cashew colorways.
“Ambassador leather is supple with a pebbled texture and a rich oiled finish — it feels soft and well worn from day one,” says Dr. Martens in their official release. This new collection focuses on maintaining the brand’s classic DNA while innovating for comfort and longevity. Each piece is designed to be immediately comfortable, ready for miles of wear.
The collection includes Dr. Martens’ signature details, such as grooved soles, black and yellow heel loops, and iconic yellow stitching. The 2976 Chelsea boot, a pull-on style first produced in the 70s, features elastic gussets and Goodyear-welting. Both the black and cashew versions of these boots retail for $170.
Additionally, the Ambassador Leather collection features other silhouettes, such as the Josef Leather Buckle Sandal Slides, Adrian Yellow Stitch Loafers, 8065 Mary Janes, 101 Ankle Boots, and 1461 Oxford Shoes.
This launch coincides with Dr. Martens’ collaboration with Nine Inch Nails, inspired by 1990s grunge culture. As the company looks ahead to 2025, it continues to assess sales strategies and seek greater profitability amid these exciting rollouts.
