Sotheby’s Sealed is set to auction an exceptional Porsche 911 Targa, the “Sotto Commission,” meticulously reimagined by Singer Vehicle Design. This vehicle marks the 300th Classic Study, based on the 1990 964-generation 911 Targa. It features Singer’s renowned 4.0L flat-six engine, paired with a five-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive.
Presented in a striking Resistance Blue with a Citrus Orange interior, the Sotto Commission showcases the pinnacle of Singer’s Classic Study specifications. It is equipped with Ohlins adjustable suspension and Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, reflecting Singer’s commitment to precision engineering and performance. Completed in December 2023, this Targa has travelled fewer than 100 miles, primarily from testing and delivery, and remains in pristine condition, a testament to Singer’s meticulous craftsmanship.
Established 15 years ago, Singer Vehicle Design has grown from a small Los Angeles workshop to a globally acclaimed name in the restomod sector. With a limited run of 450 Classic Studies, each vehicle is a bespoke creation, embodying Singer’s motto that “Everything is Important.”
The Sotto Commission features distinctive elements such as light ghosted stripes, nickel-plated bumperettes, and a titanium sports exhaust. Its interior includes carbon bucket seats and a Porsche Classic navigation system, seamlessly blending classic aesthetics with modern technology.
As production of the Classic Studies draws to a close, the value of low-mileage models like the Sotto Commission is rapidly increasing. RM Sotheby’s estimates that this rare Porsche could command up to $1,500,000 USD. The auction will begin on August 17 as part of Sotheby’s Monterey sale.
