Grace Wales Bonner and adidas have been steadily building their partnership. In January, they unveiled their first collaboration during her Fall/Winter 2024 runway show, showcasing a crocodile-embossed Superstar shoe and nylon jerseys featuring the iconic adidas trefoil.
As they gear up to release their latest collection, the first glimpses of another Wales Bonner x adidas sneaker have emerged. For Spring/Summer 2024, the designer has put her spin on the classic adidas Samba Millennium.
This updated version of the Samba, initially introduced in the early 2000s, features a beige monochromatic leather upper with the Three Stripes subtly integrated. The sneaker’s back adopts a darker camel hue, providing a touch of contrast and a sleeker aesthetic compared to the front.
Only images of the Samba Millennium have been revealed, although Wales Bonner has also crafted two new iterations of the SL72. Priced at $250 USD, the Wales Bonner x adidas Samba Millennium is set to release on May 20th.
