Fotografiska New York has announced plans to close its Midtown Manhattan location and move to a new space within the city. Opened in 2019, the museum, originally from Stockholm, also has branches in Berlin, Shanghai, and Tallinn. The current venue at 281 Park Avenue South, a six-story Renaissance Revival building, has hosted 48 shows but has faced limitations due to its nine-foot walls. Fotografiska aims to find a larger space to enhance the guest experience and better showcase artists’ visions.
