Gabriel Moses Unveils Time-Limited Prints with Avant Arte

British-Nigerian photographer and filmmaker Gabriel Moses is teaming up with Avant Arte to release two exclusive time-limited prints from his acclaimed Regina series. Entirely self-taught, the South London native has gained global recognition for his powerful yet tender portraits, primarily focusing on Black subjects and exploring themes of memory and identity.

Moses first made his mark by documenting his friends playing football and has since skyrocketed to prominence in both the editorial and fine art worlds. His impressive portfolio includes hosting an exhibition at 180 Studios and collaborations with Places+Faces, BYREDO, and Aimé Leon Dore.

The upcoming print release pays tribute to the women who have shaped and continue to influence the world. Moses cites his mother, grandmother, and sister as major inspirations, with his sister introducing him to fashion editorials. The print titled “Lea” features model Judith Onah, portraying a pregnant woman in a transparent white dress with a rifle over her shoulder, symbolizing the guardian role of a mother.

“My mum took it on herself to be a protector,” Moses shared. “It’s all I’ve known, to be around someone who raised me but has also protected me from a lot of nonsense. I wanted to push that with my photos – what motherhood means to me, and what it means to other people. It’s not just my story, it’s a universal story.”

The second print, “Monica,” showcases model Adit Ajhok Deng with her back turned to the camera. The figure blends into a dark red and black background, creating a composition that evokes strength and independence through its contemplative mystery.

Collectors can purchase “Lea” and “Monica” for $383 USD each. The prints will be available for 24 hours starting July 9 at 9am ET. Each C-Type print measures 12 x 15.7 inches (unframed) on 246gsm Fuji Gloss paper and comes signed and numbered on the back by the artist. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to own a piece from Gabriel Moses’ impactful series.
