House Industries and Autotype Bust a New Type Routine

image

This collaboration between House Industries and Autotype sounds like an interesting development for anyone who appreciates typography and design.

House Industries and Autotype have teamed up to introduce a fresh collection of limited edition fine art canvases, serigraphs, housewares, and apparel celebrating the art of typography. This collaboration showcases House Industries’ 30-year hand lettering expertise, which has graced iconic brands such as Hermès, Porsche, and The New Yorker, among others.

The collaboration between House Industries, led by Andy Cruz, and Autotype, founded by Derek Galkin, represents a fusion of creative minds seeking to break free from conventional design boundaries.

Galkin emphasizes their shared passion for design and their desire to explore new avenues beyond their established expertise. Their partnership, rooted in a friendship spanning over two decades, serves as a source of inspiration and rejuvenation for both parties.

The collection pays homage to Los Angeles architecture, Neutra type, and the extensive Photo-Lettering, Inc. archive acquired by House Industries in 2003.
