Jamie Foxx, the Oscar-winning actor, still hasn’t publicly disclosed the exact cause of his hospitalization last year, but he has shared more details in a recent video.
Foxx was hospitalized in April 2023 during the filming of the Netflix movie “Back in Action” in Atlanta. In a TikTok video posted this week, Foxx recounts telling an unidentified group about the onset of his health crisis on April 11, 2023. He mentioned experiencing a “bad headache” and asking a friend for an Advil before saying, “I was gone for 20 days.”
“I don’t remember anything,” Foxx said in the video, recorded on June 29 in Phoenix.
He further explained that his sister and daughter took him to a doctor who administered a cortisone shot. Another doctor indicated that something was “going on up there,” Foxx said, pointing to his head, but he chose not to elaborate on camera.
Known for his private nature, Foxx disappeared from the public eye following what his daughter Corinne Foxx described as a “medical complication” on social media. In July 2023, Foxx revealed he didn’t disclose more details because he didn’t want the public to see him in a vulnerable state. “I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show. I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through,” he explained in an Instagram video, describing his ordeal as going “to hell and back.”
In August 2023, Foxx provided another health update on his verified social media. “You’re lookin at a man who is thankful… finally startin to feel like myself…” he wrote, describing his recovery as an “unexpected dark journey” but expressing hope as he could “see the light.” He also thanked everyone who sent well wishes and prayers.
“Back in Action” is currently in post-production, according to IMDb, and fans are eagerly awaiting Jamie Foxx’s return to the screen.
