California-based luxury automaker Karma has unveiled its latest concept vehicle, the Ivara “GT-UV,” at this year’s Monterey Car Week. This innovative SUV represents the brand’s forward-thinking approach to electric and hybrid vehicle technology, aligning with Karma’s vision for a lineup of eco-friendly luxury cars.
The Ivara, designed as a Grand Touring Utility Vehicle (GT-UV), provides a glimpse into Karma’s plans to address varied market needs. It will be offered in two versions: a fully electric model and a range-extender hybrid. The hybrid variant integrates electric propulsion with a petrol engine, which not only recharges the battery but also extends the vehicle’s driving range and versatility.
Karma’s latest “Comet Line” styling is prominently featured in the Ivara, showcasing sleek, aerodynamic lines and a departure from traditional front grille designs. The SUV’s low, aggressive front end seamlessly merges with the windshield and rear window, creating a blend of sporty and luxurious aesthetics.
A notable highlight of the Ivara is its advanced bodywork. The SUV’s underside is treated with a self-repairing matte finish, designed to reduce scratches and surface damage through microscopic segmentation. The introduction of the Ivara marks a significant advancement for Karma, though details regarding pricing and availability are still to be announced.
