Katy Perry recently went live on Instagram to give fans a sneak peek of her upcoming sixth studio album, ‘143.’ Set to release this fall, the pop singer describes it as the dance album she’s “always wanted to make.”
During the live session, Perry shared, “I’ve been talking about doing two albums over the past eight years: a dance album and an acoustic album. I haven’t made the acoustic album yet, but we never stop writing. I finally made the dance album, the one I always wanted to make.” She continued, “This record is super high energy, it’s perfect for summer, and it’s packed with high BPM. We just had a family dance party to one of the songs, and it’s full of joy, love, and light.”
Streaming on both IG Live and TikTok Live while signing vinyl inserts for the new album, Perry previewed three tracks from ‘143.’ One clip teased a collaboration with Doechii on a song called “I’m His He’s Mine,” which samples Crystal Waters’ 1991 hit “Gypsy Woman (She’s Homeless). Another track features 21 Savage in “Gimme Gimme,” and another upbeat track titled “Nirvana.”
Perry emphasized the album’s theme, saying, “’143′ is honestly a dance party. All fandoms are invited. It’s high energy, filled with love, and perfect for summer. It’s sexy and packed with BPM. And it’s for you all.” The first single from this new era, titled “Woman’s World,” is set to drop on July 4 at 4 p.m. PST, accompanied by a music video.
