Kendrick Lamar has reportedly splashed out over $40 million for his new mansion in Brentwood, one of Los Angeles’ most affluent neighborhoods, marking it as one of the city’s priciest property purchases of 2024 so far.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the rapper acquired the home from a trust linked to former Fox Corp. executive Viet Dinh and his wife, Jennifer Ashworth Dinh. Public records show the Dinh family bought the property in 2019 for $19.5 million. Interestingly, the home wasn’t formally on the market when Lamar made the purchase.

Listings from 2019 describe the mansion as approximately 16,000 square feet with eight bedrooms in the main house, along with amenities like a wine cellar, gym, pool, and guesthouse. Whether the Dinh family made any significant structural changes during their ownership remains to be determined.
In June 2021, Lamar listed his previous 3529-square-foot property in Eastvale, California, for $800,000 after owning it for seven years. He had originally purchased it for $523,400. Lamar relocated his parents and siblings to a different home in Calabasas, which he bought for $2.65 million, several years ago.
