We all know the saying, “pride comes before a fall”. Well, Kim Kardashian might be experiencing a little bit of that right now. The reality TV star is facing some serious backlash from fans who think she tried to upstage her 10-year-old daughter, North West, after North’s epic performance as Simba in a live rendition of The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl.
North slayed the stage, performing “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King” alongside original Lion King stars like Jeremy Irons and Nathan Lane. But when Kim posted pics of herself rocking a skintight yellow bodysuit and furry coat, fans said things such as, “girl, what are you doing?!”
The internet is convinced Kim was trying to steal North’s thunder, with some even speculating she did it to draw attention away from her daughter’s performance. One fan commented, “You couldn’t let your daughter have a moment; you had to wear it too.” Another said, “Why can’t she ever let anyone have their moment? Always wants to outdo the original.”
But here’s the thing, Kim’s photoshoot wasn’t just a one-off. She posted multiple pics with variations of the outfit, including a giant yellow fur coat and furry leg warmers. And, fun fact, her ex-husband Kanye West’s new wife, Bianca Censori, rocked a similar look in a photoshoot back
in January. Coincidence? Maybe. But the internet is still side-eying Kim hard.
Fashion Moment or Spotlight Stealer!
North’s performance got mixed reviews online, with some people praising her courage and others, well, not so much. But either way, Kim’s move has left a bad taste in fans’ mouths. One commenter joked, “Thanks for ruining The Lion King,” while another said Kim must have “bought the stage” to feel entitled to upstage her own daughter. Was Kim just having a fashion moment or did she really try to steal North’s spotlight? Let us know in the comments!
