British rapper Little Simz has been appointed as the guest curator for an upcoming Tate Modern Lates event, part of a celebrated series of after-hours programs hosted by the esteemed London museum. Since its launch in 2016, Tate Lates has established itself as a pivotal event in London’s cultural scene, offering a rich mix of panel discussions, live music, workshops, and performances. Previous curators have included the collective BBZ London and Canadian artist Megan Rooney, alongside DJ sets by notable artists like Floating Points and Nabihah Iqbal.
Art and Culture at Tate Modern Lates
Jessye Bloomfield, the creative producer of Tate Lates, highlighted the significance of the series, stating, “Since launching in 2016, Tate Modern Lates have become a cornerstone of London’s artistic nightlife. Little Simz is curating an extraordinary line-up that showcases London’s creative talent and the artists and collectives who inspire her.”
Guest Curator Little Simz Takes the Stage
Simz’s curatorial debut is set to deliver an unforgettable experience as she takes the reins at Tate Modern from 6pm to 10pm. The evening will commence with three artist-led workshops: writing sessions with Caroline Adeyemi in the Blavatnik Building, bodywork classes conducted by artist Fiona Quadri and movement specialist Ayanna Birch, and a dance workshop led by Simz’s choreographer, Kloé Dean, in the South Tank.
