Moses Sumney Unveils New EP ‘Softcore’

Moses Sumney is making a comeback with the announcement of his forthcoming EP Softcore. This exciting news marks his return to the music scene after a period of exploration and personal growth.

The California and Ghana-raised singer-songwriter last released an album, Græ, in May 2020. Following that, in December 2021, he treated fans to a live counterpart of the album, Live from Blackalachia. Since then, Sumney has remained relatively quiet in the music industry, focusing on other projects and living life. However, the announcement of Softcore reveals that he has been quietly working on new music all along.

Just last month, Sumney released a new track titled “Vintage,” which carries a romantically nostalgic vibe. Unlike his previous works that leaned more towards alternative and indie genres, “Vintage” delves deeper into R&B, a fitting choice given the song’s focus.

“Vintage” is one of the six tracks included in Softcore. In addition to this track, fans can look forward to another piece from the EP titled “Gold Coast,” which is set to be released tomorrow. Softcore promises to showcase Sumney’s continued evolution as an artist, blending his signature style with new influences.

Moses Sumney’s new EP Softcore is slated for release on Friday, August 2, via Tuntum. This release is highly anticipated, as it marks a significant moment in Sumney’s musical journey.
