Netflix has just released the official trailer for the highly anticipated crime mystery series “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder,” premiering on August 1, 2024. Adapted from Holly Jackson’s bestselling novel, the series features Emma Myers, known for her role in “Wednesday,” as Pip Fitz-Amobi. Pip investigates the five-year-old murder of schoolgirl Andie Bell, challenging the town’s belief that Andie was killed by her boyfriend Sal Singh. As Pip digs deeper, she uncovers the dark secrets of Little Kilton.
The series, also starring Anna Maxwell Martin, Gary Beadle, Mathew Baynton, Asha Banks, Raiko Gohara, Yali Topol Margolith, Jude Collie, and Zain Iqbal, draws inspiration from the real-life Adnan Syed case. The six-part series, created by Poppy Cogan for the BBC, features writing from Zia Ahmed, Ajoke Ibironke, and Ruby Thomas, with episodes directed by Dolly Wells. Produced by Florence Walker and executive produced by a team including Holly Jackson and Poppy Cogan, the series was filmed around Somerset, England.
“A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” will first premiere on BBC in the UK on July 1, 2024, before its Netflix release in the US. Emma Myers expressed her excitement on Instagram, saying, “I’m just trying to find out the truth.”
