Nicholas Daley, born to a Jamaican father and Scottish mother, has always infused his designs with cultural study, inspiration, and exhibition. Raised in Lutterworth, Daley uses culture as both a personal and artistic expression, whether through intricate details or overarching collection philosophies. His Spring/Summer 2025 collection, “Sacred Drums,” centers on Rastafari consciousness and devotional percussion.
Daley delves into the roots of the 1930s Jamaican Rastafari movement, exploring its sound, rhythm, culture, and spirituality to reveal both diasporic history and modernity. This collection features history-rich jumpers, cocoon-shaped outerwear, coordinating sets, athletic jackets, ultra-loose pants, knitwear, and skirts. Daley masterfully blends styles, pairing sporty with classic, casual with tailored, and refined with relaxed.
A standout feature of Daley’s designs is his fabric usage, incorporating Sonic Jacquard, sound wave patterns, various plaids, and thick stripes. The natural tones of army green, beige, camel, bark, brick, and stone blue dominate the collection. Highlights include the SLYGO Jumper, Field Shirt, Wide Leg Pleated Trouser, and the ND Tracksuit, showcasing Daley’s ability to intertwine cultural homage with contemporary fashion.
