Nike is gearing up to reintroduce a beloved sneaker silhouette next year, as per reports from Instagram account @zsneakerheadz. The Nike Kobe 9 Elite Protro “Masterpiece” is set to make a comeback in the lineup for spring.
Initially launched in 2014, this shoe was a collaborative effort between NBA icon Kobe Bryant and Nike designer Eric Avar. The “Masterpiece” rendition features a vibrant multicolored Flyknit upper set against a black base, with metallic silver accents adding contrast throughout the sneaker. It boasts a LunarIon insert for enhanced cushioning atop a thin web outsole. The Mamba logo graces the quilted leather tongues, while symbolic red stitching on the heel pays tribute to Bryant’s return post his career-threatening Achilles injury. The Swoosh, highlighted in white, matches the rubber outsole, completing the design.
Anticipate the Nike Kobe 9 Elite Protro “Masterpiece” to hit shelves in Spring 2025, available at select retailers and online at Nike for $240 USD.
