In response to the frequent leaks of its upcoming footwear releases, Nike has introduced the annual SNKRS Showcase series as a strategic measure to control the narrative around its product launches. The series, which began last October, has unveiled a variety of in-line releases, and its success has prompted a second installment this June. This latest showcase featured several exciting drops, including the anticipated return of the Nike Gato.
Originally launched in 2010 as a futsal shoe, the Nike Gato gained renewed attention through a collaboration with Supreme in 2018 under the Nike SB label. Now, the Gato is making a comeback without the SB branding, as soccer-inspired designs remain popular. The June preview highlighted four colorways—white, gray, maroon, and green—and we now have an official look at the “White Gum” variant. This model features a white textile base with white leather overlays and a gray suede toe, complemented by a Cushlon-backed sole unit that includes a white midsole and a gum outsole.
Nike has announced that the Gato will return this holiday season, with availability expected through Nike SNKRS and select retailers, priced starting at $110 USD. Stay tuned for additional updates and detailed views of the other teased colorways as we look forward to the sneaker’s release later this year.
