Okokume to Reveal ‘Saó’ at JPS Gallery Tokyo

image

Spanish contemporary artist Okokume is gearing up to unveil her latest solo exhibition, *Saó*, at Tokyo’s JPS Gallery at the end of this month. This exhibit follows her recent showcase in Paris and continues to explore her emotional and creative evolution through her unique artistic journey.

The exhibition’s title, *Saó*, is derived from an old Catalan term that captures the essence of opportune moments, maturity, and perfection. These themes are intricately woven into Okokume’s works, inviting viewers on a journey of self-reflection and teaching them to embrace the beauty of acceptance.

The highlight of the exhibition is a stunning triptych of canvases painted with acrylic and oil pastels. These pieces are connected through pastel-colored skies, a serene river, vibrant fauna, and a blue-haired girl alongside Okokume’s signature Cosmic Girl. This captivating display creates a visual narrative that evokes cherished family memories through an ephemeral, summery scene.

Don’t miss Okokume’s *Saó*, on view at the JPS Gallery in Tokyo from June 29 to July 21, 2024. This exhibition promises to be a mesmerizing blend of personal history and artistic expression.
