Online Ceramics Chronicles Its Journey in New Oral and Visual History Book

Online Ceramics, the cult brand known for transforming Grateful Dead bootleg tees into a philosophical art practice, has released its new book, “TRICKER’S CABIN: The Oral and Visual History of Online Ceramics,” today. 

Published by A24, this 348-page book provides a comprehensive oral and visual history of the brand. It features conversations with notable collaborators like John Mayer, Andy Cohen, and Daniel Lopatin, along with a photographic timeline of their archive. The book also delves into the personal interests of the founders, adding depth to the brand’s story. 

“TRICKER’S CABIN” explores Online Ceramics’ unique aesthetic, which blends bootleg tradition with punk and pop culture references. It highlights their collaborations with A24, starting with bootleg Hereditary shirts that evolved into an official partnership. David Kordansky, who penned the introduction, describes their work as “subversive memento mori.” Topics covered in the book range from punk music and death to Kirtan yoga and psychedelic experiences.
