Party Up! Nas Throws Back to ‘Illmatic’ for its 30th Anniversary

Nas is celebrating 30th anniversary of his debut studio album, Illmatic, with a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. It is accompanied by two behind-the-scenes photos from that era as he reflects on the making of the seminal album. Further he expresses gratitude to his favorite producers who contributed to its creation. 

Despite the album leaking months before its release, Nas emphasizes its enduring impact on music history. In his lengthy caption, Nas acknowledges key figures such as Large Professor, DJ Premier, Q-Tip, Pete Rock, DJ LES, and AZ. He also  thanks everyone involved in the project ahead of its anniversary on April 19th. 

Illmatic is revered for its role in revitalizing New York City’s rap scene and is regarded as one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time. It showcases Nas’ exceptional lyrical and technical skills.
