Pharrell Williams Joins K-Pop Girl Group NewJeans for Empowering Single ‘Supernatural’

NewJeans, the South Korean girl group that has been making waves in the music industry, has just dropped their highly anticipated single “Supernatural” featuring the one and only Pharrell Williams. This powerhouse collaboration is part of a “double album single” that also includes “Right Now,” a track with an impressive music video directed by Takashi Murakami.

“Supernatural” is a masterclass in production, with Pharrell drawing inspiration from his work on Manami’s 2009 hit “Back of My Mind.” The song boasts original composition and lyrics from the Neptunes legend, blending his signature style with NewJeans’ unique sound. The result is a track that is both nostalgic and futuristic, with funky live bass, airy synths, and a frisky breakbeat that will transport you back to the ’90s.

But that’s not all – the release comes with a capsule collection of apparel and accessories designed by the renowned Hiroshi Fujiwara, adding an extra layer of style and sophistication to the already-impressive single. And if you thought that was enough, NewJeans also dropped a four-track single called “How Sweet” last month, featuring the title track and “Bubble Gum” as original compositions.

NewJeans has been on a roll since their breakout single “Super Shy” was named one of Pitchfork’s “100 Best Songs of 2023.” With “Supernatural,” they prove once again that they are a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. So, what are you waiting for? Press play and get ready to experience the supernatural!
