At the Paris UNESCO headquarters on Tuesday, Pharrell Williams unveiled more than just Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2025 menswear collection; he also debuted his latest collaboration with adidas: a trio of Superstar sneakers.
Leading the pack is the Superstar 92, also known as the “Double Wide,” which amps up the flagship model with a supersized twist. Featuring ample cushioning, the shoe draws inspiration from the exaggerated proportions of ’90s skate sneakers and ski boots, according to the brand.
Pharrell first teased this bold silhouette in April, appearing alongside BLACKPINK’s Rosé at Tiffany’s Wonder exhibition in Tokyo. He later hinted at the rest of the collaboration on his @skateboard Instagram account.
Joining the Superstar 92 are the 72 and 82 models, both of which were spotted on Pharrell’s friends throughout Paris Fashion Week. The 72 model plays with the athletic aesthetics of the ’70s, while the 82 design boasts a sophisticated ’80s-inspired look.
“We created three Superstars for a reason,” Pharrell explained in a statement. “We’ve moved beyond the impossible task of creating one thing for everyone. Instead, we drew inspiration from different decades to offer three unique designs—from the low-profile running look of the ’70s, the tailored elegance of the ’80s, to the bold design language of the ’90s. We wanted to give the world the option to find a Superstar that resonates with their unique self.”
