Porsche has announced the successful conclusion of testing for its highly anticipated hybrid 911, marking a significant milestone for the iconic sports car. After extensive global testing, the new 911 hybrid is ready for mass production, bringing dynamic hybrid technology to the forefront of driving performance.
Frank Moser, Vice President of Model Line 911 and 718, highlighted the importance of this development, stating, “For the first time in its 61-year history, the 911 will feature a hybrid system aimed at enhancing the vehicle’s dynamism.” The hybrid system underwent rigorous testing in extreme conditions worldwide, from the freezing cold of the Arctic to the scorching heat of Dubai, ensuring its durability across diverse environments.
A notable achievement of the hybrid 911 was demonstrated at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, where it outperformed its predecessor by 8.7 seconds. Porsche brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister praised the hybrid’s superior performance, citing improved grip, power, and responsive hybrid system. The test model utilized standard road tyres and an optional aero kit with a fixed rear wing for enhanced high-speed stability.
This advanced model promises increased efficiency and delivers superior performance without compromising Porsche’s renowned engineering excellence. With over five million kilometres of developmental driving to ensure perfection, the new hybrid 911 is set to be officially unveiled on May 28 as part of a global Porsche broadcast via the automaker’s official YouTube channel.
