Singer and actress Renée Rapp, fresh off her debut album “Snow Angel” and her role in the “Mean Girls” musical adaptation, has announced she’s working on a new album. In a candid chat with actress Rachel Sennott on Instagram’s “Close Friends Only” podcast, Rapp reveals that the album will reflect her transformative experiences at 23.

Their conversation covers a wide range of topics, including friend crushes, theater experiences, astrology, flirting, dating apps, and celebrity crushes. Rapp also discusses her musical inspirations and managing secret Instagram accounts (“Finstas”). Sennott even performs a theatrical rendition of one of Rapp’s songs during the episode. The full episode, produced by Sun-ny Side Up in collaboration with the Unwell Network, will be available Thursday on Spotify, iHeartRadio, and Apple Podcasts.

The podcast, launched in December with Doja Cat and Ice Spice as inaugural guests, aims to offer fans an unfiltered glimpse into the lives of celebrities. Eshan Ponnadurai, VP and global head of marketing for Instagram’s parent company Meta, notes that the series fosters intimate conversations between notable figures.

Excitingly, the series will have a live recording at VidCon in Anaheim, California, from June 26-29, featuring a conversation between Reece Feldman and Storm Reid for a future episode.
