As retro runners continue to dominate the sneaker scene, New Balance’s 1906R stands out as a favorite, celebrated for its versatile colorways and timeless design. Yet, as sneaker enthusiasts seek fresh alternatives, a revival is on the horizon: the New Balance 860v2.
Initially launched in 2011, the 860v2 was crafted for peak performance, succeeding its predecessors, the 2002R and 1906R, in New Balance’s specialized running line. Its sleek and elongated silhouette boasts ACTEVA LITE cushioning, an ABZORB sole, and the beloved open-knit mesh and metallic paneling.
In its latest iteration, New Balance reintroduces the 860v2 in a three-piece pack, focusing on its classic features. Unlike the vibrant Aimé Leon Dore collaboration, which introduced neon hues, these new releases stay true to the signature gray palette. The “Dusted Grape” and “NB Navy” colorways feature subtle gray accents, while the “Optic White” option offers a brighter, summer-ready aesthetic, complete with contrasting black laces.
