During Paris Fashion Week, Altra revealed its first-ever collaboration with Roa, presenting a stylish reimagining of its acclaimed Timp 5 trail running shoe. Altra explained that the collaboration with Roa is rooted in their “shared belief in the transformative power of nature and the importance of functional design.” This partnership has produced a shoe that seamlessly blends aesthetic appeal with practical performance.
Trail Performance Meets Style
Roa, known for its use of avant-garde materials and fashion-forward designs, chose a deep brown color for the collaboration. Altra described the hue as “sophisticated,” drawing inspiration from the earthy tones of soil. The design features a Gore-Tex upper membrane, marking the first time Roa has used this material. The Altra Timp 5, designed for both trail running and light hiking, boasts Altra’s signature FootShape design with a roomy toe box and zero drop platform. Altra stated that the model “is engineered for light and luxurious trail performance with added durability and bounce.”
This stylish iteration is equipped with Vibram Megagrip outsoles for superior traction on wet and dry surfaces, along with breathable Gore-Tex Invisible Fit liners for waterproof protection and comfort-driven Altra Ego Max midsole foam.
The Roa x Altra Timp 5 collaboration is set for a fall-winter 2024 release, available both online and at select global retailers, and will come in both men’s and women’s sizes.
