Sampha has breathed new life into one of the standout tracks from his album “Lahai.” After teasing the collaboration earlier this week, he has officially released “Satellite Business 2.0,” featuring the dynamic contributions of Little Simz.
The original “Lahai” track, serving as an interlude, was a brief but impactful piece, lasting just a minute and a half. The new version, however, is a more fully realized standalone single, extending nearly five minutes.
“This song has evolved from playing it live over the last year, taking in the energy that audiences have given to us on stage, guiding it to this current incarnation that I’m so glad to be sharing with you all today,” Sampha shared on Instagram, noting that “Satellite Business 2.0” is the only track from “Lahai” to receive a rework.
About a minute and a half into “Satellite Business 2.0,” the tempo shifts, setting the stage for Little Simz’s powerful closing verse. Sampha revealed that he always envisioned a guest verse for this track, and Little Simz was the perfect choice. “Little Simz’s music has been close to my heart and ears for some time now … She’s one of my favorite artists. Her confidence and creative bravery are so refreshing. It’s amazing to see someone giving so much to their art,” he said.
