Sarah Hyland’s ex, Matt Prokop, has reportedly been arrested for assaulting his girlfriend. The Victoria Police Department responded to an incident in Victoria, Texas, on May 20, after the former child star’s girlfriend alleged he had assaulted her.
TMZ reported that the couple had already left by the time first responders arrived. However, the police found them an hour after another disturbance call in Victoria. Sergeant Dailey of the Victoria Police Department revealed that Prokop allegedly pushed his girlfriend and forcefully hit her head against an object. The girlfriend, whose name has not been disclosed, sustained injuries significant enough to warrant an arrest.
Prokop, 33, known for his roles in “The Office” and children’s shows like “Hannah Montana” and “High School Musical 3,” has a history of alleged abuse. In September 2014, “Modern Family” actress Sarah Hyland, also 33, obtained a temporary restraining order against Prokop, claiming he choked her and made threats against her life. According to legal records, Hyland stated, “His hold was so firm that I couldn’t breathe or talk. I was frightened and feared for my life.” Prokop was ordered to stay 100 yards away from Hyland and her dog.
Since then, Hyland moved on and married Wells Adams, a bartender from “Bachelor in Paradise,” in August 2022.
