Podcasting is making waves in the push for greater media coverage of women’s sports. In a groundbreaking move, long-time sports radio personality Sarah Spain will host “Good Game with Sarah Spain,” a daily women’s sports podcast on a major radio network. This podcast will serve as a centralized hub for interviews and analyses of women’s sports players and teams across various sports.

The podcast is a collaboration between iHeartMedia and Deep Blue Sports & Entertainment as part of the newly formed Women’s Sports Audio Network. Through this partnership, they aim to provide women’s sports fans with the community and coverage they’ve been seeking.

Spain envisions the show as a daily go-to for the biggest stories in women’s sports. Along with breaking news and interviews, the podcast will feature a roster of guests including athletes, coaches, reporters, celebrities, and fans, discussing everything from on-court play to off-court drama.

“We aim to deliver stakes, stars, stories, and stats that will make you want to watch more games,” Spain said. “The goal is to create a community for those who love women’s sports by providing interviews, debates, and content that both informs and entertains.”

Spain also hopes the podcast will offer a welcoming space for women’s sports fans, creating a sense of community. “I want listeners to feel like they’re part of a community, not just listeners but active participants who feel welcomed and understood,” she added. Reflecting on her nearly 20-year career in sports, Spain noted, “I battled stereotypes about women who love sports. I had to fit in by being ‘one of the guys,’ but now, it’s about embracing all parts of oneself in the sports conversation.”

“Good Game with Sarah Spain” promises to be a revolutionary platform for women’s sports coverage, fostering a sense of belonging and excitement among fans. Stay tuned for more updates and join the community to support and celebrate women in sports!
