In their latest Spring 2024 release, Supreme partners with the iconic American rock band, Melvins, to create an exclusive capsule collection.
Formed in 1983 in Monesano, Melvins are credited as pioneers of Seattle’s grunge sound, shaping the era alongside bands like Nirvana, Mudhoney, and Soundgarden. Krist Novoselic, Nirvana’s bassist, once remarked, ‘Every Seattle band of the late ’80s owes a little something to the Melvins, a band that slowed down the tempo and played sludgy riffs.’
Known for their cult following and experimental musical style, Melvins have also produced diverse album art, ranging from colorful to abstract. The collaboration features a range of apparel including a BDU jacket, S/S polo, hooded sweatshirt, T-shirts, and headwear, all adorned with Melvins’ iconography and Supreme’s logo. Additionally, a custom-shaped pillow resembling the Two-Headed Dog character from Melvins’ album, Houdini, is part of the collection.
The Supreme x Melvins collaboration drops globally on May 9 via Supreme’s webstore, followed by availability in the Asia region from May 11.
