SZA and Keke Palmer reunite in a new comedy film produced by Issa Rae.
According to Deadline, details about the plot are still under wraps. Still, the untitled movie is set to be a “buddy comedy” with Lawrence Lamont from Rap Sh!t directing and Syreeta Singleton, the showrunner, penning the screenplay. Issa Rae will produce through her HOORAE banner alongside Sara Diya Rastogi, while Palmer and her mother, Sharon, will make for Big Boss. Denise Davis from ColorCreative, Charles D. King, James Lopez, and Poppy Hanks from Macro Film Studios, are also onboard as producers.
Palmer and SZA’s comedic chemistry was first showcased during their joint Saturday Night Live appearance. This upcoming film marks SZA’s acting debut. She carefully considered various projects before deciding that reuniting with Palmer was too good an opportunity to pass up.
