In a remarkable feat, Taylor Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, has stormed the charts in its debut week, amassing a staggering 2.61 million equivalent album units. This includes 1.914 million album sales from various versions, 683,000 streaming album units, and 14,000 track equivalent album units. This monumental achievement secures Swift’s 14th No. 1 album, tying her with JAY-Z for the most No. 1 efforts among solo artists, and crowns The Tortured Poets Department as the highest-selling album of 2024 to date. In addition, it sets a new record for the most significant streaming week for any album in history.
Pearl Jam’s Dark Matter is joining the chart this week, which debuts with 59,000 equivalent album units, comprising 52,000 in album sales, 7,000 in streaming equivalent album units, and the remainder in track equivalent album units.
In the top 10 rankings, Future and Metro Boomin’s WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU lands at No. 2, followed by Beyoncé at No. 3 and Morgan Wallen at No. 4. Future and Young Metro’s collaborative effort, WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU, slips to No. 6. At the same time, Noah Kahan and Benson Boone claim the 7th and 8th spots, respectively. SZA moves down to No. 9, while Taylor Swift reappears at No. 10.
