The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Makes A Comeback

image

In a bold move echoing the pulse of its audience, Victoria’s Secret took to Instagram with an electrifying announcement: “We’ve read the comments and heard you. The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is BACK!” With promises to embody the essence of modernity while retaining the beloved elements of glamor, runway magic, angelic wings, and stellar musical performances, anticipation reaches new heights.

Last September, Victoria’s Secret initiated a soft relaunch of its famed runway spectacle through a documentary-style film, introducing the “VS20” concept. This innovative approach saw a collective of 20 creatives curating four distinct visual concepts across global cities like Bogotá, Lagos, London, and Tokyo. However, the upcoming show signals a return to the roots of its original grandeur.

Victoria’s Secret has faced an uphill battle in reviving its brand image since the cancellation of the fashion show in 2019. Controversial remarks made by then-marketing chief Ed Rezak in a Vogue interview stirred significant backlash, particularly concerning the exclusion of transgender and plus-sized models. This setback was further compounded by the 2020 release of the docu-series “Victoria’s Secret: Angels and Demons,” which delved into the brand’s tumultuous journey, shedding light on its complicity in promoting harmful beauty standards and its association with Jeffrey Epstein through L Brands’ CEO Les Wexner.

Yet, the forthcoming fashion show serves as a pivotal moment in Victoria’s Secret’s ongoing revival saga. While details regarding the show’s location and date remain under wraps, the teaser video hints at an eagerly anticipated event slated for this fall. Stay tuned as Victoria’s Secret scripts the next chapter of its iconic legacy.
