Pharrell Williams and Tiffany & Co draw inspiration from mythological themes for their debut jewelry collection, ‘Tiffany Titan.’ Williams, known for his diverse talents and creative ventures, took cues from Poseidon’s trident to craft 19 new jewelry pieces featuring sharp spear-shaped motifs juxtaposed with fluid, undulating links.
Tiffany & Co and Pharrell Williams: The ‘Tiffany Titan’ Collection
Crafted from 18ct yellow gold and titanium, the collection offers a punkish twist to traditional designs. Offbeat elements such as reverse-set diamonds and rotating details in pendants, earrings, and rings add a playful touch to the pieces. The titanium designs provide an edgy contrast to the 18ct recycled gold pieces, with a deep black hue achieved through a molecular process, offering a sensual and subdued contrast against the gleam of the gold.
Pharrell Williams on the Inspiration Behind ‘Tiffany Titan’
Williams explains, “‘Titan’ draws inspiration from Poseidon, ruler of the sea, King of Atlantis. ‘Atlantis’ is also the name of the Virginia Beach community I grew up in.” The meticulous attention to detail, including the use of black titanium, is a physical representation of beauty in Blackness.
Signature Spear Motif in ‘Tiffany Titan’ Jewelry
The collection showcases a signature spear motif, evident in generously proportioned bracelets, dangling earrings, and clean gold chains adorned with pavé diamonds or left unadorned. ‘Tiffany Titan’ by Pharrell Williams will debut exclusively on Tiffany.com in the US and at The Landmark in New York City in May, with a global release at Tiffany & Co stores and Tiffany.com in June.
