Tupac Shakur’s Estate Threatens Drake with Lawsuit Over AI-Generated Vocals

image

The twist? Those vocals were apparently created using artificial intelligence.

Tupac Shakur’s estate is issuing a warning to Drake regarding the use of AI-generated vocals of the late rapper in his recent Kendrick Lamar diss track, “Taylor Made Freestyle.” Billboard reported that the estate’s lawyers have given Drake 24 hours to remove the track from social media before they pursue legal action against the Canadian artist.

In a letter statement, the estate expresses disappointment over the unauthorized use of Tupac’s voice and personality, particularly in a diss aimed at Kendrick Lamar. The estate notes Kendrick’s respect for Tupac’s legacy and finds Drake’s use of AI-generated vocals disrespectful. “Taylor Made Freestyle” was released as a response from Drake to Kendrick Lamar’s verse on “Like That.”
