How does one chart a course toward their future? This central question is explored in ‘GRIT & MAGIC,’ an exhibition presented by the Los Angeles-based creative collective and non-profit, DREAMHAUS. Held at SUPERVSN, the event showcased the final projects from their internship program, which coincided with “The Road To Lost Emotions,” DREAMHAUS’ immersive 360° mobile experience.
DREAMHAUS: Inspiring Local Young Creatives
Founded by Nikkolas Mohhamed and Mike Reesé in South Central, DREAMHAUS leverages fine art to inspire and support local young creatives. ‘GRIT & MAGIC’ provided insight into the work of four emerging artists—Kaya Balugo, Tina Rudasingwa, Youree Choi, and Dylan Uema—who completed their summer internship with the program. This initiative offered a framework for participants to explore their roles within the creative economy and refine their personal goals.
GRIT & MAGIC: Showcasing Emerging Artists
The exhibition presented a range of projects, including a mixed-media animation, a tactile magazine, a short film, and a 21-day anti-burnout ritual. Each project reflected the artists’ distinctive perspectives and creative development.
The World’s Playground of Lost Emotions: An Interactive Installation
The event also featured “The World’s Playground of Lost Emotions,” a reimagined DREAMHAUS art car adorned with custom leather and floral prints. This interactive installation highlights the group’s creative philosophy, emphasizing themes of identity, purpose, and connection. ‘GRIT & MAGIC’ exemplifies how creative perseverance can lead to remarkable outcomes, celebrating the fusion of art and ambition.
